Health Educator PRN
Employment Type: Part-Time
The Department of Psychology's REACH Institute seeks part-time, hourly, health educator for our longitudinal studies.
The health educator will be delivering a strengths-based intervention, the Family Check-Up 4 Health (FCU4Health), which seeks to improve parenting, family management practices and reduce children's diet and physical activity problems, as well as problem behaviors. The FCU4Health integrates assessment with motivation-enhancement strategies to tailor intervention goals to meet the unique needs of each family and to increase family engagement. Delivery of the FCU4Health is flexible with families choosing where to best receive the service; educator travel is required. Services are typically home-based and all sessions are video recorded. Hours are based on the client's needs. Regular activities require motivational interviewing (MI) based delivery of the FCU4Health involving an initial assessment with the family, case conceptualization, feedback sessions with the family as needed and communication with the clinical supervisor and FCU4Health evaluators as needed. Health educators will also be trained to code client sessions as needed. This is an on-call position where the hours will be varied based on the client's needs.
Bachelor's degree in Health Education or related field AND two years of health education experience; OR, six years of health education experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
