Primary Function The Database Administrator reviews, evaluates, designs, implements and maintains Care New England database[s]. The incumbent is responsible for configurations and ongoing maintenance of MSQL Server environment to include: capacity planning, database analysis and optimization, performance monitoring, backups, restores, and general troubleshooting. Identifies data sources, constructs data decomposition diagrams, provides data flow diagrams and documents the process. Maintains and develops DTS jobs and SQL stored procedures and supports vendor applications utilizing MSQL Server. Assists in the development of junior database administrators, and performs other job-related duties as requested. Specifications Bachelors Degree in Computer Information Systems or related field with 2 to 4 years database experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures. Ability to plan and accomplish goals. Experience in healthcare environment highly desired. Good communication skills. Must be able to design, develop and manipulate MS SQL Server databases, data warehouses and multi-dimensional databases. Understanding of Windows 2000 Operating System and Microsoft Active Directory Infrastructure. Manual dexterity and mobility required for physical demands of job, including frequent and often prolonged periods of sitting, standing or walking, and occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling or crouching. Must be able to push, pull, lift or carry equipment and supplies up to 25 pounds.
