Location: Brooksby Village by Erickson Senior Living Brooksby Village is a beautiful 90-acre continuing care retirement community located just 20 minutes from Boston in Peabody, Massachusetts. We are hiring an Activities and Program Coordinator. This position will support our programming teams in our Assisted Care, Memory Care, and Rehab neighborhoods. You will organizes the delivery of therapeutic programming to meet the physical, intellectual, spiritual, creative, recreational, social and emotional needs and well-being of the residents residing in Continuing Care. How you will make an Impact: Person Centered Care Summary: The Continuing Care team is committed to serving residents in all aspects of their daily lives and assisting with the day to day functioning of the neighborhood. Members of the Continuing Care team will develop relationships with the residents and their families using a consistent caregiver approach; supporting the residents' physical, spiritual, emotional and clinical needs and focusing on placing the residents first. Clinical-Direct contact with residents: Implement, supervise, and/or lead group and individual therapeutic and recreational activities. Interact directly with residents and family when able, to gather information for assessments, MDS and care plans. Educate staff and volunteers regarding residents' abilities and limitations, psychosocial needs and therapeutic interventions during in-service training sessions and staff meetings. Planning, designing, and preparing for activities and department duties: Collaborate with Continuing Care staff in recruiting, training, monitoring volunteers for the activity program. Design and plan therapeutic and recreational activity programs using own skill areas of specialty. Determine the need for activity supplies, identify vendors, generate supply lists, order supplies, label and distribute supplies where needed. Indirectly supervise program department staff. Create and or monthly activity calendars to be displayed on each neighborhood and in each resident's room. Participate in yearly budget planning process; identifying and justifying payroll and departmental supply needs. Coordinate resident entertainment, trips, and special events. Communication and Documentation: Participate and or designate appropriate staff to participate in Interdisciplinary Team Care Planning process. Consult with activity staff concerning residents needs daily and weekly staff meetings. Comply with Federal, State, and County requirements related to activity program documentation, including daily attendance, monthly calendars, progress notes, MDS, and Care Plans. Coordinate Programming staff member's activities daily. Run standup to plan the day. Participate in open communication regarding activity programming, scheduling, resident concerns/issues on a daily basis and in meetings with Continuing Care staff. Complete documentation during staff absence.
