OverviewThe Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.The Sr. Financial Analyst performs data discovery, financial analysis and reporting to support organization's Revenue Cycle processes and ensure proper payment to organization. This job has the flexibility for the site of work to be predominantly remote or in-person.Responsibilities* Collaborate interdepartmentally to develop actionable reports to analyze and streamline payment processes.* Utilize technical platforms, such as SQL Server and Tableau, to translate business problems into data visualizations, reports and presentations which yield actionable recommendations.* Conduct data discovery and analysis from financial and clinical data to generate and test working hypotheses, uncover interesting relationships and identify data quality issues.* Identify and implement areas of improvements such as increasing the level of data accuracy or decreasing the time spent to update a model or report.* Other duties as assignedQualificationsEducation and Experience Requirements:* Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) required - preferably in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field required; Masters Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field preferred.* 5 years of financial analyst experience, preferably in a healthcare environment or relevant experienceKey Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities:* Detail oriented with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision with a wide degree of creativity and latitude. May manage projects independently or lead/direct the work of others.* Collaborative and team-oriented communication style able to work effectively cross departmentally* Ability to apply critical thinking and analytic skills to formulate recommendations and resolve problems* Ability to research, analyze and interpret complex data and formulate recommendations* Excellent data-modeling skills with ability to communicate findings to a wide audience in a clear and concise manner* Ability to identify and implement areas of improvements such as increasing the level of data accuracy or decreasing the time spent to update a model or report* Ability to work in a high pressure, deadline oriented, and complex health care environment* Able to grasp and apply new concepts quickly* Ability to effectively prioritize concurrent responsibilities and meet timelines* Advanced Excel skills and expertise with database tools such as SQL Server and Access* Experience with hospital claims and/or hospital billing data and analysis preferred* Experience with SQL and Tableau preferredOur Commitment to DiversityWe are proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) Employer.
