Field Technician for SPY-1 Array Resurfacing. Will perform stripping and preparation of array surfaces in conjunction with array resurfacing on AEGIS class cruisers and destroyers. The work is primarily done in a closed environment on scaffolding.
Employee required to wear appropriate PPE, e.g., face mask, for the working situation.
Employee may perform shipboard installations as part of a team conducting ship and ordnance alterations in between array resurfacings.
This is a high travel position (>60%), with assignments domestically and internationally, such as Norfolk VA, San Diego CA, Pearl Harbor HI, and Yokosuka, Japan.
The position will require working overtime, and weekends and holidays as needed, to meet customer schedule commitments. May infrequently working second shift.
Must have valid driver's license.
Must have or be capable of obtaining a US passport.
Must pass local background check before start of employment and ultimately pass background screening for DOD security clearance. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Interim & Final Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
Able to perform work onboard ships to include climbing / descending ladders and scaffolding.
Able to work as part of a team and take direction.
Able to lift and carry tools bags and 5-gal containers across the work area.
