WHY BE A HOSPICE COMMUNITY LIAISON AT LUTHER MANOR?
The Luther Manor Hospice Community Liaison is responsible for the overall planning, direction, coordination, and management of the marketing program. They will participate in the development of organizational goals and objectives. The ultimate goal of hospice community liaison is to promote Luther Manor Hospice and convert that to referrals.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:
Demonstrate initiative and commitment to achieving company growth and results to ensure long-term viability.
Represents Luther Manor Hospice positively and professionally with in the community.
Call on physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities' management, independent living and memory care facilities, rehab facilities, discharge planners, case managers and other healthcare facilities within an assigned territory, to promote our hospice services and generate referrals.
Build and maintain client relationships and be comfortable networking.
Provides accurate information regarding Luther Manor Hospice (LMH) services in response to inquiries by healthcare providers and general public, in accordance to the goal-directed development plan.
Coordinates with the clinical management staff in planning in-service and presentations, and in addressing issues with referral sources.
Participated in community and organizational programs as requested, to promote professional growth and understandings of hospice care.
Conducts business effectively and in a fiscally responsible manner. Monitors and reports cost effectiveness of marketing efforts.
Along with the Hospice Director, prepare a business plan and maintain a target list. Prioritize accounts in accordance with the market sales plan.
Knowledge of the specialized care that hospice provides and ability to verbalize that care.
Participates in review/revision/creation/implementation of policies and monitors compliance with policies, procedures, and standards of practice consistent with regulatory guidelines.
Collaborate with various department heads to promote positive interdepartmental relations.
Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Communication Management Relations (CMR) platforms.
Directs staff/community in the provision of services in compliance with the Medicare Hospice Benefit, hospice philosophy, and eligibility.
Works closely with admissions to ensure timely, efficient, and effective admissions.
Demonstrates flexibility in work schedules and shared responsibility for delivery of care.
Uses excellent organizational and communication skills to prioritize, supervise, and manage daily work for self and other care team members.
Assist with development of sales collateral.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR?
Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or have two years of progressive experience in marketing and sales:
Experience Requirements: Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in hospice or significant health care management experience, formal sales training preferred
Sales success: Candidates should be able to discuss success/awards from previous positions.
Communication: Comfortable with cold calling for business generation.
Able to communicate effectively with patients and family members and offer comfort, physicians, nurses and hospital personnel as well as managers and staff of facilities.
Able to recognize and respond to non-verbal cues and communication.
Able to communicate effectively with Hospice Leadership. Can give informational speeches about the LMH program to community groups and organizations.
General Computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CMR's.
