Chiles Research Institute (EACRI) at Providence Cancer Institute is recruiting a Research Associate II. The main role of the Cell Production Facility is to generate novel, safe and effective T-cell products for use in adoptive immunotherapy for patients with cancer who are enrolled in our clinical trials. The primary responsibilities of this position include generating T-cell products in a cleanroom environment, protocol and process development including optimization of cell culture methods, data acquisition, analysis, and management, translational research, and training and education. The candidate must have a BSc, strong work ethic, and strive for technical excellence. Experience with mammalian cell culture and cGMP compliance are major assets. Experience in immunological research techniques such as enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), ELISPOT assay, and multicolor flow cytometry, as well as T-cell culture are also major assets. In this position you will be responsible for the following responsibilities: * Perform the research necessary and evaluate the quality of research to reach the established goals of the laboratory under some supervision of the Laboratory Chief or other laboratory personnel * Originate and develop new techniques that facilitate the research goals of the laboratory * Stay current with the literature in ongoing and proposed research projects in the field of specialty * Use appropriate and reliable documentation, follow uniform reporting standards, and provide information by maintaining effective procedures and preparing periodic reports Required qualification for this position includes: * Bachelor's Degree with major courses in the field of research * Three (3) years research lab experience Preferred qualification for this position includes: * Bachelor's Degree in appropriate biomedical field About Providence in Oregon As the largest healthcare system and largest private employer in Oregon, Providence offers exceptional work environments and unparalleled career opportunities.
