PEMCO Mutual Insurance Company is looking for a Associate Damage Appraiser to join our total loss claims team. Showcase your organizational skills as you manage a steady volume of complex total loss claim files. This work includes negotiation and coordination with our customer and the body repair shop to ensure a win-win experience in a caring and professional manner.What You'll Be Doing* Effectively manage fluctuating workload, with strong supervision and ongoing training, while maintaining focus on claims quality and customer experience* Interact with policyholders, agents, claimants, witnesses, attorneys, contractors, repair technicians and other vendors/partners to facilitate accurate, prompt claims resolution.* Issue timely claims payments with a low level of claims payment authority; present files outside of authority level for review and approval* May inspect auto property damage* Occasional CAT duty as needed* Collaborate with other internal departments in recognizing and referring claims involving SIU, subrogation and salvage* Build rapport with policyholders, customers, agents, carriers, attorneys and vendors to facilitate prompt and accurate claim resolution* Develop knowledge of case and statutory law in the proactive evaluation, negotiation and resolution of first- and third-party total loss claims* Demonstrate behaviors consistent with PEMCO's policies, values, code of ethics and business conduct* Authentically support the PEMCO Brand and constantly are on the lookout for top talent to join us to achieve our Mission to Worry Less and Live More* Other duties as assignedWhat You'll Bring* Associates degree or equivalent work experience B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent work experience* 1 year of experience in a customer service type role is required* 1 year of experience in a claims servicing role in the property & casualty insurance industry* MS Office: Skilled proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook is required* Customer First: Has a relentless focus on the customer and dives deep into the challenges they face with a strong customer service orientation* Compliance: Possesses knowledge and understanding of relevant laws, rules, and regulationsWe've Got You Covered* Competitive salary* 200% match on your 401(k) up to 6% of your pay* Generous medical, dental, disability and life insurance plans* A friendly, professional work environment* The opportunity to work at a place of integrity, where customer service is emphasizedAt PEMCO, we celebrate and support our differences.
