In this position you will work to improve access to care and health outcomes. The medical assistant will assist the provider or professional nurse in various tasks in People's Health Clinics, new health collaboration with Centene, Betty Jean Kerr People's Health Centers and Schnucks. The medical assistant must be proficient in completing accurate vital signs and phlebotomy, detail oriented, able to deal with a diverse clientele, various medical assignments regarding processing patients and paperwork while working in a fast paced environment. Evening and weekend hours are available.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Interviews patient and records relevant, required medical history in the patient chart.Performs routine tasks such as measuring vital signs, weight, and height. Performs vision and hearing tests. Accurate and thorough documentation of history, patient examination, tasks and procedures performed by Medical Assistant. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Prepares patient for examination. Cleans and sterilizes patient rooms.Cleans and sterilizes instruments. Administers medications and injections under direct order of a provider.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus Medical Assistant certification from an accredited college or technical school; NextGen experience or similar EHR system required. Minimum 2-4 years pediatric experience strongly preferred.
