Summary. This nurse internship opportunity is offered to students currently enrolled in an approved nursing school, actively pursuing a nursing degree/diploma. Excellent academic credentials are essential. Strong interest in nursing area and inner desire to help patients is essential for a nursing internship position students so as to enrich their practical knowledge about nursing practice. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Identifies and suggests innovative approaches and participates in implementing performance improvement opportunities. Maintains compliance with Presbyterian SeniorCare Network policy and procedure in accordance with governing laws, regulations, regulatory agencies, accreditation bodies and community standards. Demonstrates on a consistent basis individual and team behavior that supports the Person-Centered, Woodwell and Woodside philosophies of Presbyterian SeniorCare Network. Consistently upholds the mission, values and behavior standards of Presbyterian SeniorCare Network. Maintains confidentiality. Other duties may be assigned. Specific duties for nurse interns include assessing patients with illnesses, education, observation experiences, classroom learning, vital signs ,performing nursing procedures under the observation of the nurse mentor, educating patients on medication, discharge preparation, ADL care, coordinating with other departments, maintaining professional demeanor, and performing other tasks assigned by the nurse mentor. 1. Assists in Care plan completion. 2. Attend and participate in Resident care planning conferences and assure the communication of outcomes and action items to the responsible staff.# Student interns may be asked to attend and successfully complete necessary training, educational classes and meetings required as applicable and to maintain regulatory agencies or company policy.
