Facility: North Fargo Clinic Location: Fargo, ND Address: 2601 Broadway N, Fargo, ND 58102, USA Shift: Day Job Schedule: Full time Weekly Hours: 40.00 Job Summary Have overall accountability for the management, programming and operation of sporting facilities, including operational scheduling, individual athlete development and facility maintenance. Provides daily and ongoing leadership for POWER, including planning, build out/construction modifications, budgeting, marketing, integration, staffing, hiring, training, development and growth of programming. Promotes POWER services with professional athletes, area high school administration, parents, coaches, universities, club sports teams, business/corporate entities, police/fire, military, etc.. Requires integration with leaders/partners of the entire sports medicine continuum of care, including physicians, sports physical therapists, athletic trainers and the Sanford Sports Science Institute (SSSI). Integration includes communication and brand/service awareness with partner groups and services within facility, along with managing any third-party users within footprint. Must demonstrate a full understanding of all policies and procedures, as well as testing protocols for POWER programs. Responsible to ensure programming maximizes the promotion of Sanford Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, including Sanford POWER program. Maintains records of events, athletic screening, programming and performance testing. Maintains records of all athletic scheduled training sessions, along with financial transactions utilizing Sanford provided software and banking systems. Demonstrates a growth mindset and entrepreneurial spirit. Ability to network and develop key referral sources. Demonstrates leadership in sport/athletic development dedicated to maximizing performance and educational training for athletic competition, recreational athletes and individuals whose goals are to be fit and healthy. Responsible for designing and implementing athletic development programming for populations of any age, sport and skill level. Assures these services are provided effectively and efficiently according to the goals and objectives of the health system and according to professional practice standards of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and USA Weightlifting (USAW) with emphasis placed upon quality health care and a safe environment. Additionally, the General Manager is responsible for the coaches and coaching conducted under the purview. Plays a role in providing education to area coaches and athletes. Requires both physical and mental competency skills. Requires demonstrating skills for: observing, testing and managing athletes. Involves directing athletes to perform movements involving strength, power and agility that may include plyometric and strength lifting techniques utilizing free weights and some machines. Will require public speaking ability that includes the media, local school systems, sports club teams, the public, etc.. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required from an accredited institution in a field of exercise science, kinesiology, health, physical education, recreation or other closely related disciplines. Master's degree in one of the identified bachelor's degree areas is strongly preferred. Minimum of five years' experience required. Seven years of strength and conditioning/coaching experienced preferred. Three years of leadership experience preferred. Possess a thorough understanding of the physiological basis of exercise and the ability to program/instruct according to the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and USA Weightlifting (USAW) guidelines. Possess an understanding of management, marketing principles and leadership techniques. Competent in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills is required. Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) required at date of hire. Additional certification in at least one of the following areas is preferred: Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa), USA Weightlifting and/or American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six weeks of employment. Required to maintain certification.
