POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: Attendant LAST UPDATED: April 23, 2013 DIVISION: Security DEPARTMENT: Valet REPORTS TO: Shift Supervisor FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt COMP LEVEL: 2 ________________________________________________________________ Summary: Parks and retrieves guests vehicles. The intent of this position description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by this position. Employee(s) may be required to perform position-related tasks other than those specifically listed in this description. Essential Job Functions: * Greets and welcomes guests; opens and closes casino doors, provides directions, calls shuttle busses, assists with loading or unloading wheelchairs and scooters. * Parks vehicles in valet lot, marking parking space on valet ticket, and re-parks vehicles if requested by guests. * Tags vehicles with valet ticket including vehicle description, license plate number, and vehicle damage. * Locates guest vehicle, retrieves and surrenders vehicle to guest. * Assists guests with lockouts, flat tires, and jump-starts. * Drives valet van; parks and retrieves Lodge vehicles; washes, vacuums, and cleans vehicles. * Cleans and maintains valet shack. * Notifies supervisor if a vehicle is unsafe to drive/park. Required Knowledge: * Safe driving practices and principals. Required Skills: * Driving both automatic and manual transmission vehicles. * Monitoring and providing guest service. * Operating computer hardware and software applications. * Communicating both orally and in writing. * Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others. Education, Experience, Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications: * High School Diploma or equivalent, and three (3) months hospitality or guest service work experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. * Valid state issued Drivers License AND must be eligible for SMGI company insurance. * Candidates being considered for this position will be assessed on the following: Customer Service Mindset. * Low security gaming license issued by the Grand Ronde Gaming Commission. * Must be at least 18 years of age. Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements: * Work is performed in an outdoor environment, subject to varying temperatures and possible adverse weather conditions. * Work is subject to repeatedly getting in and out of unfamiliar vehicles and driving moderate distances. * Work is subject to standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling and lifting up to 50 pounds. * May be exposed to blood and body fluids, drugs, unsanitary conditions, and infectious and communicable diseases. * Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screening and periodic, random drug screens.
