Summary of Work
This position will provide a high level of supervision for adolescents in the Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility. Will provide positive mentoring and guidance to adolescents experiencing significant mental health issues, according to program philosophy and guidelines. Must be flexible and creative to implement individualized treatment plans for the adolescents served while recognizing their trauma backgrounds and how that impacts their current behaviors. Role model a positive attitude that includes a courteous and respectful approach to the difficult issues the adolescent is addressing in treatment. Supervise daily living activities that includes transportation, chores, homework, groups, activities, passes, meetings, recreation, documentation etc. Must be willing to complete and maintain required training and receive supervision in a professional manner. Must be willing to work as part of a team to help the adolescent become healthy and successful.
APPLICANTS MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE. POSITION REQUIRES A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE & BACKGROUND CHECK.
Requires high school graduation or GED and two years of work experience in duties involving special population groups such as the mentally ill, developmentally disabled, children and adolescents, or patients/clients in a direct care facility such as a hospital, nursing home, or group home; OR two years of work experience as a Direct Care Associate II with the Department of Human Services; OR one year of work experience listed above and an Associates, Bachelor's or Master's Degree in social work, psychology, special education, occupational therapy, physical therapy, counseling, child development and family science, sociology, human resource management (human service track) or nursing (RN/LPN); communication disorders (includes audiology and speech pathology), developmental disabilities, vocational rehabilitation, elementary education, mental health or recreation therapy.
If unable to find qualified candidates, will consider filling the position as a Direct Care Associate II (7001), which requires high school graduation or GED and one year of work experience as listed above.
