After successful fulfillment of demonstrated learnings of the 12-month Associate Systems Administrator Apprenticeship program, recipients will receive a certificate of completion from T-Mobile. Through the course of the apprenticeship, you will complete a series of demonstrated learnings delivered through digital platforms, classroom training, one-on-one training with subject matter experts, mentorship, experiential learning through on-the-job assignments, and completion of a final project.
This Associate Systems Administrator program is focused on the Linux/Unix learning track where you will get the opportunity to become proficient in technical application and operational discipline. You will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration and reliable operation of computer systems and servers in a highly dynamic environment. You will also learn a basic understanding of application related to project management, core networks, transport, signaling and interface protocols, along with other opportunities to provide technical and operational support to other departments and teams as needed to meet business objectives.
At least 18 years of ageLegally authorized to work in the United StatesHigh School Diploma or GEDT-Mobile requires all employees in this position to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to starting work. The CDC defines 'fully vaccinated' as two weeks after the second dose for Pfizer and Moderna, and two weeks after the single dose of Johnson & Johnson. T-Mobile will require proof of vaccination and consider requests for exemption from this requirement during the offer phase as a reasonable accommodation for medical reasons or sincerely held religious beliefs where the accommodation would not cause T-Mobile undue hardship or pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others.
High School Diploma or GED
Preferred - 1 year of Community College in an IT or computer discipline or Work Ready Certificate
Candidates must be a current resident in the state of Nevada
Earners of the Apprenticeship certificate have successfully demonstrated proficiency in the following knowledge and skills:
* Demonstrate understanding of basic operations of hardware
* Demonstrate understanding of basic operations of networking
* Demonstrate troubleshooting skills by resolving of server administration issues
* Validate design compliance & participate in design reviews
* Support deployment of the design to ensure the requirements were met
* Solve technical or business challenges including technology evolution, capacity management, and performance optimization
* Provide technical support & troubleshooting, for applications, servers and systems
* Document and present design benefits to a wide range of audiences.
* Apply essential professional operating system skills and organizational practices
* Apply system design and operational support development practices
* Apply system design processes and maintenance practices across multiple operating system environments
T-Mobile Apprenticeship Program is an official registered apprenticeship recognized by the Department of Labor (DOL).
The System Administrator Apprentice Certificate is issued automatically after the successful completion of the apprenticeship.
