Teams within Public Affairs include: Corporate Communications, Corporate Philanthropy and Community Relations; Government Relations and Public Policy; Platform and Digital Services; Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility and Public Affairs Chief Operating Office.Reporting to the Head of Sustainability, this newly created position will lead a team (initially) of 6 direct reports and provide strategic leadership for Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) programs and policies. This role requires experience in integrating sustainability and human rights considerations across a variety of disciplines with extensive partnership with internal leaders, lines of business, operational functions and external organizations. The preferred location for this position is in Charlotte, NC; Minneapolis, MN; Los Angeles, CA; Phoenix, AZ; St. Louis, MO; Philadelphia, PA; San Francisco, CA; Denver, CO or Washington, DC. Other Wells Fargo locations may be considered.Specific responsibilities include:* Develop and lead highly innovative sustainability strategies that engage key internal stakeholders to embed a focus on sustainability throughout our operations, risk management, and supplier engagement.* Advance our efforts to embed greater awareness and management of human rights across the enterprise* Drive increased integration of environmental and social impact management within lines of business and risk functions and policies* Lead a team of strong subject matter experts to expand the scope of engagement on enterprise efforts and ability to influence internal leaders and achieve greater integration of ESG management across the enterprise* Identify root causes of ESG integration gaps and develop innovative solutions to close those gaps* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive effective ESG policies and practices* Engage with non-government organizations and other representatives focused on sustainability and human rights* Serve as a trusted liaison to line of business leaders and operational groups, learning from their market experiences and keeping them engaged and informed of stakeholder expectations and best practices for ESG integrations* Represent Wells Fargo and serve as a thought leader on sustainability and human rights* Seek opportunities to advance storytelling and best position executives and companyAs an Employee Manager, you are expected to achieve success by leading yourself, your team, and the business. Specifically you will:* Lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your employees feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them.* Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented employees, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing employees, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.Required Qualifications* 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning* 5+ years of management experienceOther Desired Qualifications* 5+ yrs experience working with in sustainability, human rights, or environmental and social risk management* Previous experience in Sustainable Finance and/or integrated ESG factors into financial product structures or corporate operations* Experience working with corporate organizations and NGO's* Experience presenting information in a manner that persuades and enhances understanding at all levels* Experience leading, high-performing geographically dispersed, cross-functional diverse teams* Experience building strong relationships and maneuver through political conversations gracefully* Certificate or education in Sustainability, Environmental Affairs, Human RightsJob Expectations* Ability to travel up to 25% of the timeDisclaimerAll offers for employment with Wells Fargo are contingent upon the candidate having successfully completed a criminal background check.
